Refunds

Requests for Refunds are the responsibility of the student to submit.

Please see the academic calendar for eligible refund dates prior to submitting a refund request.  Refunds do not include non-refundable fees, i.e. confirmation deposit fee, other non-refundable fees etc. per tuition policy.

International students (with proof of study permit refusal) who did not attend classes (in-person or virtual) are entitled to a 100% refund; less Payment 1 (non-refundable) of the confirmation deposit. International students who choose to remain enrolled in studies remotely from their country (without a study permit final approval) who attended class; standard refund policy applies.

Students who are sponsored or receiving student loans will have the refund sent to the sponsoring agency or lending institution.

What do I need to do to get my tuition and fee funds back?

I am unable to attend college this year, can I get a refund of my confirmation deposit?

Domestic Students:

No, the $250.00 confirmation deposits are non-refundable

International Students:

Payment #1 ($1500.00) of your confirmation deposit is non-refundable.

However, any additional payments are eligible for a refund.

I am unable to attend college this year, can I get a refund of my tuition and fees paid?
Yes, students are eligible for a refund of 100% of tuition and fees paid, less the non-refundable confirmation deposit for the first two weeks of the fall and/or winter term; and are eligible for 50% refund for weeks 3 and 4 of a term.  There are no refunds after week 4. 
I received a student loan for my schooling but am withdrawing, do I get the refund or does National Student Loan Service Centre?
Your refund will be issued to National Student Loan Service Centre.
I am a sponsored student, who will get the refund?
Your refund will be issued to your sponsor. 
I have been sponsored by Training and Skills Development but am withdrawing, who will get my refund.
Your refund will be issued to Training and Skills Development.
How long does it take to receive my refund?
Refunds take 4 to 6 weeks to complete.
I paid full time tuition and am now a part-time student, do I get a refund?
If your enrollment status changed from full-time to part-time within the refund timeline, you will be eligible for a refund of the difference.  If your status changes after the final date for refunds, then you are not eligible.  Please see our academic calendar for these dates.
I am an International student whose study permit was refused, am I entitled to a refund?

How are refunds processed for Canadian Financial Institutions?

If you used a Canadian Financial Institution to make a payment, and are receiving a refund, it will be refunded via the PayMyTuition portal:

  • All other payment options will be refunded by E-Transfer to student’s preferred email address recorded on their student account. The student will receive an email from PayMyTuition informing them the refund request is being processed and that a follow up email from Interac will be sent within 24-48 hours.  The email from Interac will provide direction to enter a one-time passcode which can be retrieved by signing into Student Self-Service and clicking on "Account Statement & Refunds".
How are refunds processed for International Financial Institutions?

If you used an International Financial Institution to make a payment, and are receiving a refund, it will be refunded via the PayMyTuition International Portal.
